HMS (HEAVY MELTING SCRAP)

  • HMS I/II 80/20
  • HMS I
  • HMS II

Heavy melting steel (HMS) or heavy melting scrap is a designation for recyclable steel and wrought iron. It is broken up into two major categories: HMS 1 and HMS 2, where HMS 1 does not contain galvanized and blackened steel, whereas HMS 2 does.

Both HMS 1 and 2 comprise obsolete scrap only – iron and steel recovered from items demolished or dismantled at the end of their life.

It includes used, non-ferrous steel, and other metals. This type of scrap is often referred to as “blackened steel” and can be found in old machinery, construction sites, automobile parts, and demolition debris. Scrap metal sold in this category has better mechanical properties than the equivalent grades of steel or cast iron. The best way to describe ferrous metals is that they are magnetic. These metals tend to be much bulkier than non-ferrous metals Both HMS 1 and 2 comprise obsolete scrap only – iron and steel recovered from items demolished or dismantled at the end of their life.

HMS 1 and 2 are widely traded, particularly in the western hemisphere.

CAST IRON

CAST iron, an alloy of iron that contains 2 to 4 percent carbon, along with varying amounts of silicon and manganese and traces of impurities such as sulfur and phosphorus. It is made by reducing iron ore in a blast furnace.

The difference between Cast Iron and steel is the carbon content. Cast Iron has more carbon and is brittle compared to steel. This material comes from a mold and has a shape. When dropped from some height onto a hard surface, this material will break apart. Examples of where this material will come from include demolition sites, auto body shops (drums and rotors), old furnaces, and cookware.

Cast iron tends to be brittle With its relatively low melting point, good fluidity, castability, excellent machinability, resistance to deformation and wear resistance, cast irons have become an engineering material with a wide range of applications and are used in pipes, machines and automotive industry parts, such as cylinder heads, cylinder blocks and gearbox cases. It is resistant to damage by oxidation but is notoriously difficult to weld.

SHREDDED STEEL SCRAP

Shredded steel scrap is the fragmented or crushed steel scrap obtained by crushing or shredding used automobiles , electronic goods , white goods etc in small pieces.

Shredded steel scrap is a processed scrap and is often one of its kind processed scrap of high quality available in organized market.

WE ARE one of the reliable partner for shredded steel scrap in Indian market. ISRI 210 Shredded scrap: Homogeneous iron and steel scrap, magnetically separated, originating from automobiles, unprepared No. 1 and No. 2 steel, miscellaneous baling and sheet scrap. Average density 50 pounds per cubic foot. ISRI 211 Shredded steel scrap: Homogeneous iron and steel scrap magnetically separated, originating from automobiles, unprepared No. 1 and No. 2 steel, miscellaneous baling and sheet scrap.

PLATES AND STRUCTURAL SCRAP

Plate and structural scrap, Or P&S in the scrap industry, is a cut grade of ferrous scrap, to be free of any contaminates, commonly associated with building construction and demolition, can found amongst electric arc furnace casting and foundry material. The 4 ft. length distinguishes it as prepared material, which means that a scrap yard can process it using less machinery on site.
Plate and structural scrap is comprised of clean open hearth steel plates, structural shapes, crop ends, shearing , or broken steel tires. Dimensions not less than 1/4 inch thickness, not over 5 feet in length and 18-24 inches in width.

RAILWAY SCRAP

We have marked a distinct and dynamic position in the market by providing a high-quality array of Used Rail Track Scraps, Rail Lines.
Our product range includes a wide range of Railway Ladder Track, Mild Steel Railway Track and Crane rails.
We also deal in R50-R65 Railway Scrap

MS TURNINGS

WE SUPPLY steel turnings of appropriate quality suitable for steel mills. Steel turnings are generated while working on steel mainly when drilling , machining , milling , boring , grinding , etc works are performed on steel. this materials are usually of good quality or grade of steels.

Steel turnings supplied by US are available in 2 forms :

  • Loose steel turnings
  • Briquetted steel turnings
